Choose Your Path

Dear Spry Church Family and Friends,

It's already April--one of my favorite months of the year! Earlier this week we got a taste of the beautiful spring weather that's up ahead. I love this time of year.

We are on a journey, not just toward the amazing weather of spring, but also toward Easter. On Sunday we continue our journey toward the annual celebration of the most important event in history, the resurrection of Jesus from the dead! The message on Sunday will include insights from a series of books that I greatly enjoyed when growing up (I'm sure some of you will know of them, too), and from two surprising sources--Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear--along with a beautiful picture of love and devotion that I believe can inspire us today. We'll focus on how we all have choices to make that will have different outcomes. Ultimately, we have to make a decision. Every day, in big and small ways, we face a series of choices that will shape our journey and our character--the kind of people we are becoming. How can we learn to make truly wise decisions about which path to take?

On Saturday, April 13th our church is hosting a spaghetti dinner from 4-7pm to support our Guatemala missions team. Tickets cost $8 and kids 6 and under are free. You can get tickets by clicking here

Finally, last week I shared a link to a survey for our congregation to complete. It should take only 20 minutes. The deadline is April 8th at midnight. If you haven't already done so, please follow the instructions below. This survey will help us further discern where we are as a church and how we can faithfully pursue God's calling together. We value your input. Thanks in advance for completing this survey!

Don't miss worship this weekend--we'll be looking at the choices we make, and I encourage you to choose to be with us as we gather to worship God. See you Sunday!

In Christ,

Ken

Dear Church member,

Grace and peace to you through our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ!  We are taking seriously our call to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.  As your church continues following where God leads, we are asking for members of the congregation to complete a Readiness 360 online survey.  The Readiness 360 survey helps a church to discover exactly where it is in four key areas, so that it can see which way to go and what path will most dependably get it moving toward God’s preferred future.  The Readiness 360 will help identify opportunities for assessing the church’s spiritual intensity, relationships, missional alignment, and cultural openness. It is important that as many people as possible take the survey. The more people who take the survey, the more complete the report will be.  After everyone takes the survey, next steps will be discoverable.

Please click on the following link to Log in to the survey: https://app.readiness360.org/survey/login

Type in your congregation’s survey Code: 1111213852 You do not need a pin number.  Set aside 20 minutes to take the survey between, March 24, 2019 and April 8, 2019 by midnight.

If you have questions, please contact the Equipping Vital Congregations Office at 717-545-0525 or evcoffice@susumc.org

Thank you in advance for helping your congregation assess how you will propel into new faithful possibilities to reach new and more people for Christ in new ways.

Peace,

Cindy Weaver
