Palm Sunday

Dear Spry Church Family and Friends,

I hope you've been enjoying the beautiful weather we've had this week. Soon we'll see even more of it!

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the day we remember Jesus' entry into Jerusalem where he was greeted with shouts of praises by people waving palm branches. The palms were signs of his victory, and what Jesus would go on to do in Jerusalem has forever changed the world. Worship this Sunday is going to be uplifting and inspiring - invite a friend and join us!

Due to our growing attendance in worship, it's important for us to be considerate of those who need to park near our main entrance - such as those who use wheelchairs and walkers, the elderly, parents with young children, guests, and persons bringing supplies. We ask those of you who are physically capable to park in our three lower lots when possible, particularly on April 14th and 21st. In addition, on Easter, April 21st, we encourage street parking on Crestlyn Dr. or Circle Ct., as well as carpooling with family or friends.

We have a series of special services and events leading up to Easter. You can see our schedule at EasterforYork.com. That website is a reminder that our Easter celebration is for our community! Easter is one of two times a year when people who don't normally attend church are most receptive to an invitation to worship (the other is Christmas). So this is a great opportunity for us to play our part in connecting people with Jesus, which is our primary purpose. Who will you invite? Ask God for guidance, and then extend a personal invitation to people you know - family, friends, neighbors, co-workers - to our Easter services and events. An easy way to invite people is to send them the link, EasterforYork.com, either by email or through social media. Reach out and invite others to our Easter celebration. It's going to be amazing!

On Saturday, April 13th our church is hosting an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4-7pm to support our Guatemala team on their mission trip this summer. Tickets cost $8 and kids 6 and under are free. Tickets are available at the door. Come hungry.

This Sunday in worship we'll hear from one of our college students, Ryan Schreckengast, who is following God's call to serve a summer internship at New Life Children's Home in Guatemala, a place we've been partnering with for years. We'll be supporting him with our Easter Missions Offering. Ryan is taking this step in response to God's work in his life, and we are so proud of him! Sunday's sermon will encourage you to take the next step in your journey as we follow Jesus together. We'll even have our special guest Jack the Friendly Donkey with us as part of our Palm Sunday celebration! Don't miss worship this Sunday!

See you soon,

Ken
