The Freedom We All Need

Dear Spry Church Family and Friends,

Happy New Year! I hope you and your family have had a good start to 2019. I believe 2019 is going to be another exciting year for our church, as the Holy Spirit continues to move among us. I look back at 2018 and thank God for all that we have to celebrate in our life together - so many signs of the Lord using our church to change lives and bring people hope. I also look ahead with great anticipation to all that is yet to come.

This Sunday in worship we'll announce the grand total for our Christmas Missions Offering - it's an outstanding number, even higher than what was reported in our January newsletter! Thank you so much for your extraordinary generosity, Spry Church. Your giving will make a difference for kids in need in our community and in Guatemala, and that's such a great way to honor Jesus and celebrate his birth.

This Sunday we continue our series called "Pirates: Thieves of Joy." We'll take a look at something we can all relate to that has the potential to steal our joy and negatively impact not just us but also those around us: bitterness. We all face circumstances that can leave us feeling bitter. A critical factor is how we choose to respond. We'll focus on moving from bitterness to forgiveness. That shift in focus and perspective gives us the freedom we all need, and that is what God wants for each one of us.

I'm really excited to be back at Spry after a trip to Indiana and Kentucky to visit extended family. I can't wait to worship with you and I hope you'll join us for this important message!

In Christ,

Ken
