Unexpected Blessings

Dear Spry Church Family and Friends,

I hope you're enjoying the nice weather we've had the last few days. This morning I'm taking our son Zeke on a preschool field trip to Nixon Park. I love this time of year.

On Sunday we continue our series called "The Journey." The message will focus on how we can learn to see God's presence in the unexpected. In it, we'll show a clip from one of the greatest speeches ever given - so powerful!

It's almost time for our annual college basketball tournament challenge. You don't even have to be a basketball fan to participate (our 7-year-old daughter Annie beats me EVERY YEAR), and it's free. You can sign up at ESPN.com/bracket. Our group name is Spry Church. Make your selections between Sunday night and March 20. The top 3 finishers win a prize!

As we continue in the season of Lent, this is a time of spiritual reflection and introspection, repentance and fasting, and focusing on our relationship with God as we walk with Jesus towards the cross and resurrection. I encourage you to make worship a priority and join us each Sunday from now until Easter. Also, a reminder about our Lenten reading and action plan: this plan provides a daily Scripture reading and a list of foods to donate to our Food Pantry which serves our neighbors. The goal is for everyone in our church to follow this plan. As you do, you'll find greater meaning and purpose in your daily life by growing in the love of God and neighbor, and you'll be all the more prepared for us to celebrate Easter when that time comes on April 21. Click here to view the reading and action plan. Join us in this church-wide initiative of spiritual growth and renewal.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we gather to worship the Lord and hear a message about pursuing our purpose in Christ!

Ken
